FRANCETTE

Verallia design awards 2020.

Francette is a bottle of red wine that responds to the 2020 Verallia design awards' theme: "Le verre à la française". Francette aims to allow a (re)discovery of wine, of French wine culture. It is a bottle that first encountered France through its emblematic drink, but also the sharing that wine represents and offers. Its shape and details underline and pay homage to French wine culture, even when emptied. It’s a bottle that keeps the simplicity of Bordeaux bottles. A rounded cuff is in the middle of the bottle allows for better grip, both when held and when the wine is poured. The color of the bottle is quite dark, close to black so as to remind again the bottles of Bordeaux and the grape while allowing to see the interior of the bottle once emptied.

The bottom of the botlle is inspired by the landscapes surrounding the vines. It's inspired by the wine landscape and more precisely the mountainous landscapes.

This allows a surprise until the end of the tasting. Thus Francette is a bottle that can be tasted and surprised until the end.
Every details of the bottle is here to orient the discussion on the bottle and french viticulture.
